Gareth Davies was the first to manages a list for German Shepherd Dogs (GSD). In 1994, Gareth saw a need for people to get together to talk about this wonderful breed. This list was created for and is dedicated to the WHITE GERMAN SHEPHERD and those that love them. The color "WHITE" can be traced back to the root's of the German Shepherd dog. It is a historical FACT that a White GSD was the Grandsire of Horand Von Grafrath, born in 1895 the dog who is acknowledged as the foundation dog of the contemporary German Shepherd bloodlines-and from that time forward the color WHITE had a genetic gene pool with in the color variations of the German Shepherd Dog. WhiteGSDTalk was the FIRST list to form here it was formed so we would ALL have a place to go to talk and learn about this beautiful animal and how we can best PROTECT it's interest. The purpose of this list is to promote this beautiful dog, educate it's members and join TOGETHER to turn the tide of prejudice and regain equal status and respect for our white coated dog's not as undesirable or a SEPARATE BREED, but as a "COLOR VARIATION" of the German Shepherd Dog. We welcome anyone to join this list, but we reseve the right to unsubscribe anyone who attacks someone else for their beliefs. Please join in on the great conversation and FUN! This is an open forum for discussion of any issue concerning the White Shepherd or the White German Shepherd. Such issues may include but not be limited to breed separation, AKC concerns, gripes, opinions, health issues, pictures, cute stuff, show information, and any other matter of interest to the poster. Vigorous discussions and even heated discussions are welcome so long as we do not personally attack those with whom we disagree. The free exchange of ideas will be UNCENSORED except that profanity will not be allowed. Peaceful forums can be blissful but ignorance is bliss. Nothing is learned or accomplished through limitations on speech. I will allow no one to restrict my right to state an opinion on any subject in the name of maintaining "peace". My point of view is that White Shepherds, and those who love them, would be better off with breed separation. I am an amateur on genetics, historical issues concerning breed separation, and ignorant on many, many things concerning the White Shepherd. I do admire and love this dog, and I welcome those who disagree with me on any point to this forum. I not only learn from my friends, I also learn from those with whom I strongly disagree.
